Kathleen Dobbs, AB 2025, published a paper in the Journal of Medical Entomology. The work, based upon her senior thesis research, investigated the impact of heatwaves on each life stage for the invasive tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus. Juvenile life stages were resilient to short heatwaves, but prolonged heatwaves across multiple life stages can lead to increased adult mortality.
