A simple email request from undergraduate fellow Hayley Huntley has spurred the return of community music making on Thursday evenings at Tyson. "I wanted to reignite this tradition because both music and science are a big part of my life."
Years ago the Tyson Valley Ramblers provided folksy background music for dinner following the Tyson seminar. Hayley is hoping that anyone with a musical inclination would be willing to come together for informal jam sessions. "It doesn't matter what instrument you play! We have people bringing guitars, violins, a drum, a trumpet, and even egg shakers."
There are three more Thursday seminars and dinners left for summer 2018. Feel free to join the Tyson community at 4:00 pm on July 19, July 26, and August 2.
